Our bodies come in different shapes and sizes! No one is the very same due to genetics! We all have certain strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the food we eat!
There are 3 main types that we will focus on:
Endomorph
Ectomorph
Mesomorph
Just a quick disclaimer: These are NOT the end all be all of body types. Just the major three that we'll be focusing on.
Endomorph
Weight loss tends to be more difficult for this body type. These people can have larger waists, and a predisposition of storing fat instead of building muscle.
Ectomorph
This body type is seen to have long slender muscles/limbs with low body fat. They don't tend to build muscle very easily either. Gaining weight is usually a challenge, even if they "eat a lot."
Mesomorph
This body type gains muscle mass easily but can also carry quite a bit of fat if not burning it as energy. They usually tend to have defined muscles even if they aren't as active as someone with the other body types.
The point of knowing your body type isn't to think one is better than the other, because that couldn't be further from the truth. Knowing your body type allows you to create plans that are designed to work for YOU! All this really means is that some bodies are better equipped to burn fat for fuel, while some aren't and end up storing it instead. Also, some bodies are just naturally more muscular than others. However, with the proper plan you can achieve results that suit the best health for your body!
