I think we all know whats it's like to push ourselves to the brink of pure EXHAUSTION. The funny thing is that we don't realize it. When you're constantly on the go, working toward goals, making plans, achieving them and moving on to the next it's hard to notice when you become burnt out. Which can happen in all aspects of our live, even things we love.
That feeling of laziness can be the result of pushing yourself nonstop. In a way it's like the body saying "I NEED A BREAK PLEASE." However, since we are surrounded by a multitude of hard working people, whether it be at a job, gym or activity, we feel guilt for being lazy.
We end up comparing ourselves to others rather than internally checking on what we may desperately need. Which is pure rest.
Don't Fret, This Feeling Won't Last Forever
A huge fear around taking a break is that we won't be able to hop back into things full swing. But, that's truly a myth. Periods of "laziness" from exhausting ourself is when we're able to recover. This can be an extreme advantage, because after these lazy periods come waves of extreme productivity!
You're able to find a new perspective of approaching life, especially, whatever it was taking so much of your energy. Also, you'll find you're able to do some of your deepest self reflection. These are amazing period for self growth to come back stronger than ever!
Next time you start to feel like doing nothing, don't beat yourself up! Take a step back and look at what you've been up to lately? Always on the go? Always working? Always stress? That laziness could be trying to save your sanity! Everyone needs a good lazy Sunday!
